Dinner at Chateau West!

We are planning another dinner club event for our Celiac Support Chapter. We will celebrate French Independence day a little late, but with a lovely French dinner at Chateau West at 3408 West End Ave. on Sunday, July 24th at 7:00 pm. The chef at Chateau West will be able to provide menu items from their regular menu adapted slightly to accommodate our need for a gluten-free meal.

For appetizers, you could select shrimp saffron, foie gras, or beef tartare. Salads such as the beet and goat cheese, the caesar, or the spinach and warm bacon can be adapted for our needs. The main course could be salmon, duck breast, filet mignon, or pork chops. Even for dessert we have a choice of crème brulée or a flourless chocolate torte called chocolate moulleux. You can select as many courses as you want from the regular menu and they will adapt those items listed here for us.

It can be an expensive meal if you select several courses, but it will be delightful to experience a true French meal with no worries about gluten. You can also limit your choice to a salad and appetizer or to just the main course, if you want to economize and still participate in this culinary exploration into the world of French cuisine.
