Who We Are
The National Celiac Association Tennessee (NCAT) is a local nonprofit organization and proud chapter of the National Celiac Association. We are dedicated to supporting and building community for those living with celiac disease and other gluten-related conditions, along with their families and caregivers. We started as a chapter of Celiac Support Association in 1992 before becoming an official NCA chapter in 2018. Across its history, NCAT has served as a trusted, compassionate resource for the gluten-free community in the greater Nashville area.
What We Do
NCAT is an educational, service, and community-building organization for people with celiac disease and other gluten-related conditions and their families. We host quarterly educational meetings that highlight the latest medical research, dietary guidance, and practical strategies for living well on a gluten-free diet. Beyond education, we create community through social events including picnics, holiday gatherings, and dinner meetups, helping people and families feel understood and connected.
We are also deeply committed to outreach to promote health and wellbeing across the lifespan. NCAT coordinates initiatives to assist those facing gluten-free food insecurity, people newly diagnosed with celiac disease, young adults navigating independence, and caregivers supporting children with celiac and gluten-related conditions. Our programs ensure that no one has to face these challenges alone.
Why Our Work Matters
Living with celiac disease or a gluten-related condition can be challenging. Safe, affordable food access, reliable information, social connection, and emotional support are all essential. Through education, advocacy, and community support, we empower individuals to lead healthy, fulfilling lives while raising awareness of the real challenges faced by those who must live gluten-free.
Your interest and support help us expand our reach, strengthen our programs, and provide life-changing resources to individuals and families across middle Tennessee. Together, we can build an informed, supportive, and compassionate community for everyone affected by celiac disease and gluten-related conditions.
